DO I NEED TO BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE?
It is likely that many of our shows will sell out in advance. We strongly recommend purchasing your tickets before you travel to Forres.
WHERE DO I GET MY TICKETS FROM?
This is a ticketed event. Without tickets or other relevant proof of purchase you will not be allowed access to the event. Tickets are available online at firstname.lastname@example.org
WHAT DOES MY TICKET TIME MEAN?
The time on your ticket is your entry time for Colours of Cluny
I’VE NOT RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION EMAIL. IS THIS NORMAL?
No, if you haven’t received an email confirming your ticket purchase, please send us details of your booking and when you booked to email@example.com Our box office will investigate and respond.
WILL MY TICKETS BE POSTED OUT?
If the date you have booked for is LESS THAN 9 days away or you live overseas, your tickets will not be posted out, you will receive an e-ticket confirmation direct to your email which you should print off and bring with you as proof of purchase. All other tickets, bought more than 9 days in advance, will be posted out.
I’VE BOOKED TICKETS BUT NOT RECEIVED THEM YET. ARE THEY LOST?
Tickets are dispatched from mid-July onwards. If you have purchased tickets prior to this, you should receive your tickets by early August at the latest. If you have not, please contact our box office on firstname.lastname@example.org with your booking reference and they will be able to update you or replace your tickets if required.
I’VE LOST OF MISLAID MY TICKETS. CAN I GET DUPLICATES?
If you can’t find your tickets, please call our box office on 0844 888 9991 to arrange for the collection of replacement tickets. You may be required to show identification and/or proof of purchase.
I’VE NOT RECEIVED MY TICKETS AND THE SHOW IS TONIGHT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I WOULD LIKE TO EXCHANGE MY TICKETS, IS THAT POSSIBLE?
Tickets cannot be refunded. Tickets can be exchanged at the sole discretion of the box office manager and subject to availability.
WHAT IS COLOURS OF CLUNY?
The Colours of Cluny is an outdoor sound and light show which takes place at Cluny Hill Grant Park in Forres (8th – 19th November). Visitors will be treated to a series of choreographed sound and light shows while they follow the path around the tree-lined hill.
WHERE DOES THE SHOW TAKE PLACE?
The event takes place in Grant Park, Forres, on the avenue of trees to the west of the bowling green, in the car park and then the paths leading up to Nelson’s Tower.
HOW LONG DOES THE SHOW LAST FOR?
You should expect to be at the event for between 60 to 90 minutes to fully appreciate the show. Most visitors walk around more than once during their visit. Once you arrive at the event you can stay as long as you like. The show closes at 9.00pm
WHAT TIMES DOES THE SHOW START?
The show runs from 8th – 19th November and the show starts from 17:30 every evening and there are times available every 15 minutes. The full range of remaining available times can be seen by clicking to buy tickets.
WHAT TIME DOES COLOURS OF CLUNY CLOSE?
The show closes approximately one hour after last entry.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO ARRIVE AT COLOURS OF CLUNY?
You should aim to be at the entrance at Grant Park at the time shown on your ticket.
ARE THERE TOILETS AT THE EVENT?
Yes, there are toilets at the event and these are clearly signposted.
ARE THERE ANY SHOW TIMES WHICH ARE NOT ATTENDED BY CHILDREN?
There are no specific show times that are solely for adults, however to assist with your planning, our later shows midweek are slightly less popular with families. The most popular family show times are the earlier evening times
IS THERE FOOD AVAILABLE AT THE EVENT?
Yes, we have outdoor catering units situated on the hill at the entrance and near Nelson’s Tower offering a selection of hot foods and hot and cold drinks.
HOW LONG IS THE WALK AROUND COLOURS OF CLUNY?
The walk is approximately 1 hour long and roughly 2 km.
WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO USE GRANT PARK DURING THE PERIOD THE SHOW IS BEING STAGED?
The entire Grant Park is fully open to the public and not affected by ‘Colours of Cluny’
The event takes place initially on the avenue of trees to the west of the bowling green and then the paths leading up to Nelson’s Tower We are certain this Community lead project will highlight the fantastic asset the people of Forres enjoy having the Grant Park and Nelson’s Tower on their doorstep.
IS IT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN/ELDERLY?
Care should be taken on paths. The climb to Cluny Hill is quite steep and as such it is not recommended for wheelchair users or visitors who have mobility challenges.
IS IT SUITABLE FOR DISABLED VISITORS?
The event is not accessible to wheelchair users or people who have mobility challenges.
ARE THERE DISABLED TOILETS ON SITE?
Yes, there will be disabled toilets on site.
IS THE SITE ACCESSIBLE FOR WHEELCHAIR ACCESS?
The make up and in some places steepness of most of the paths on Cluny Hill unfortunately makes the safe use of a self propelled wheelchairs impossible.
ARE STROBE EFFECTS USED IN THE SHOW?
It is not recommended that photo sensitive epileptics attend Colours of Cluny. While no single source of lighting regularly strobes at high frequency, the volume of light fixtures on site could raise the frequency of light flashes and strobing across multiple sources to a level where it may be considered unsafe for people who are affected by photo-sensitive epilepsy.
IS THERE PARKING ON SITE?
No. Customers should make use of the public parking facilities in Forres.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
Please use the car parks in the town. They are free and easily accessible
CAN I TAKE A PRAM/BUGGY WITH ME AS I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN?
You can but bear in mind that the site has some slopes to go up and down.
IS THE EVENT ACCESSIBLE BY TRAIN?
Yes. The train station in Forres is a 20 minute walk from the event.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED AT COLOURS OF CLUNY?
No, dogs are not allowed at the event. The event attracts lots of people and that, combined with very hot lights, electricity cables and loudspeakers situated at curious doggy level can make it too dangerous for our furry four legged friends.
ARE ASSISTANCE DOGS ALLOWED AT COLOURS OF CLUNY?
Yes, guide dogs for the blind, hearing dogs for the deaf and assistance dogs are all permitted. We do ask that you be aware that the site can be busy in places, and that there are very hot lights, electricity cables and loudspeakers often situated at curious doggy level. Assistance dogs in training are also welcome.
I’M A PHOTOGRAPHER, CAN I USE A TRIPOD OR MONOPOD ON SITE?
Yes, you are most welcome to bring a tripod or monopod to help with photographing the event. Just be careful not to block any pathways when you’re creating your photographic masterpieces. Please bear in mind that the site closes at 9.00pm so if you want to make the most of your time in the forest, please book an earlier show.
ARE THERE PHOTOGRAPHER ONLY SHOW TIMES?
No, there are no shows that are solely for photographers. We do ask that you are respectful of other visitors who may not fully understand your need to spend a little more time capturing the perfect shot.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED AND HOW WILL I KNOW?
The event will only be cancelled in the following circumstances:
- When the weather in Forres is perceived to be a danger to the public in the woods (e.g extremely high winds)
- A major failure in the electronics system
The event will NOT be cancelled in the following circumstances:
- Heavy Rain in Forres – we advise that all visitors dress appropriately for the weather and bring an umbrella.
- Heavy Rain in Another Part of Scotland – we advise our visitors to take note of the weather conditions on route to the event and allow ample time for their journey.
- Very Cold Weather – we advise that our visitors dress warmly and appropriately for cold weather
The decision to cancel will be made at 11am on the day of the event. Shortly after we will endeavour to contact you either by e-mail or by text and a notice will be posted on the front page of our website.
You should check the web site from mid-day on the day you are going to visit, particularly if extremely high winds or storm conditions are forecast.
IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED DO I GET A REFUND?
Yes, you will be refunded. Your payment details are not held on file so, in the event of a refund, please wait 24 hours and then Ticketline will automatically issue a refund direct to you method of payment. If you have any questions about refunds please email email@example.com
IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED CAN I BOOK ANOTHER DATE?
If tickets are available then you will be given the option to swap dates.
LOST PROPERTY AT COLOURS OF CLUNY
If you’ve lost any property while attending Colours of Cluny, please email us details at firstname.lastname@example.org and a member of the team will get back to you. Alternatively, pop up to the ticket booth on site while the show is on – all lost property will be kept on site there while the show is running.
CAN I BOOK MY WEDDING AT COLOURS OF CLUNY?
Unfortunately we are unable to hold weddings on site due to restrictions in availability.
