The Budge Foundation
The Budge Foundation, (www.budgefoundation.org) set-up by Bill and Lorraine Budge, has donated £25,000 to Colours of Cluny. Bill Budge lives in Aberdeen but is originally from Forres, Moray. The couple set up the Foundation to support cultural and education-related projects in Scotland and worldwide. Other Budge Foundation beneficiaries include Forres Pipe Band, Forres Highland Games, Brodie Castle Playpark, CLAN and Action Medical Research. In Uganda, the Foundation has an ongoing programme of supporting health and education of young people being actively involved with the rebuilding of 5 schools, one specifically focused on Street Kids.
Highland and Islands Enterprise (HIE)
HIE have made a very substantial donation of £17,500 towards the cost of staging the event. The CIC presented an extensive presentation to HIE which demonstrated the impact this event would have both locally and beyond as well as showing the substantial involvement by local volunteers in delivering the end product.
The Berryburn Community Fund
The Berryburn Community Fund, (berryburncommunityfund.co.uk) set up by the owners of the Berry Burn wind farm, Statkraft UK has donated £10,000 The Fund awards three rounds of grants each year to support community projects in the Speyside and Morayshire regions. Other beneficiaries include Grantown Nursery and Forres Golf Course.
Forres Events Ltd
We are delighted this organisation, behind the staging of “Piping at Forres”, which hosts the European Pipe Band Championships in Forres each June, has given financial assistance. We would encourage all readers to make a diary note for next year’s event… it is an incredible day out.
Forres Common Good Fund
We are delighted to have received a donation from this source, demonstrating its focus on supporting worthy activities within the Forres Area.
Forres Area Forum
We are hugely appreciative of a donation from Forres Area Forum towards the costs of staging the event.

We are hugely indebted to the Creative Director behind the event agreeing to waive her fee relating to creating all of the design ideas behind “Colours of Cluny”.

BAM Nutall are currently working for Network Rail developing the new station in Forres. They, together with two of their suppliers, have very generously agreed to pay for the cost of hiring the electrical generators and fuel tanks which will be required to power the show. In addition, they have paid for some of the signage at the event.
